Info & policies
From Application to Go-Home
From your first application to the day you bring your puppy home, I try to keep the process simple and personal. You’ll know what’s happening along the way, get to watch your litter grow, and have plenty of opportunities to ask questions before go-home day.
Apply
Start by filling out our puppy application so I can learn a little about your family, lifestyle, experience with dogs, and what you’re looking for in your future puppy.
LET’S CHAT
Once I receive your application, we can talk about upcoming litters, expected size, coat, timing, availability and any questions you have about my program.
RESERVE YOUR SPOT
A $500 non-refundable deposit reserves your place on the litter waitlist. Puppy selections are made in deposit order once the puppies are old enough for families to begin choosing.
WATCH THEM GROW
Once the puppies arrive, I share lots of photos, videos and updates so families can follow along as they grow and see what we’re working on behind the scenes.
CHOOSING YOUR PUPPY
Puppy picks typically begin around 3–4 weeks in deposit order. Around 7 weeks, each puppy completes a temperament evaluation. I share those results with families as an additional guide and not as a way to assign or match puppies to families.
GO-HOME DAY
Puppies are ready to leave around 8 weeks old. Final payment is due before pickup, and I’ll make sure you have everything you need to continue the routines and foundations we’ve already started at home.

$500 deposit reserves your puppy
Why do we require a deposit?
A $500 non-refundable deposit officially reserves your place in the litter and determines your puppy-pick order. Once your deposit is received, that spot is held specifically for your family and is no longer offered to another applicant.
The deposit helps us keep our waitlist fair and ensures that the families reserving a puppy are ready to move forward. If your timing changes, your deposit may be transferred to a future litter according to our reservation policy.
Your deposit is applied toward the total purchase price of your puppy.
The remaining balance is due before your puppy’s scheduled go-home day. Full deposit, payment and transfer policies are outlined in our puppy contract so families know exactly what to expect before committing.

Bringing your puppy home
Puppies are ready at 8 weeks. Three easy ways to get them from Cold Spring to you — and we've delivered as far as Chicago.
Pick up in Cold Spring
Pick up in Cold Spring by appointment on go-home day and drive your puppy home.
Meet halfway
For Midwest families we're happy to meet at a point between us — a flexible meeting spot that works for both.
Fly into MSP
Fly into Minneapolis–Saint Paul International and we'll meet you at the airport; many families fly home with their puppy in-cabin.
Need a little extra time? Puppies can stay with us past their go-home date for $30 per night, continuing their curriculum until you arrive.
VISITING OUR PUPPIES
Keeping Little Paws Safe
Our puppies are raised right in our home, and protecting their health during those first weeks is extremely important to me. Before they have completed their vaccinations, young puppies are much more vulnerable to illnesses that can easily be carried into their environment on shoes, clothing and hands.
Because of that, visits are limited and depend on the puppies’ age and stage of development. When an in-person visit isn’t appropriate yet, I’m happy to share photos, videos and updates so families can still watch their litter grow.
As the puppies get older, visits or meet-and-greets may be arranged when I feel it is safe for the litter. I know everyone is excited to meet them, but their health will always come first.
PUPPY CONTRACT & HEALTH GUARANTEE
Everything in Writing
Every puppy goes home under our puppy contract and health guarantee. I want families to have the opportunity to read through everything ahead of time and ask questions before signing and there shouldn’t be surprises on go-home day.

What's inside
- Two-year health guarantee covering qualifying genetic and hereditary conditions
- Spay/neuter requirements for companion puppies
- Our return-to-breeder policy, if you can no longer care for your dog, we want them back with us
- Breeding rights and restrictions. Puppies are sold as companions unless breeding rights are discussed and approved separately
- Buyer and breeder responsibilities so expectations are clear from the beginning
- 30-day Trupanion trial and activation requirements
Please take the time to read through our puppy contract before go-home day. I want every family to understand our health guarantee, policies and responsibilities before bringing their puppy home. If you have any questions, I’m always happy to go over them with you.
