Our Program

Health Tested Parents

Healthy puppies start long before a litter is born. Every mom and dad in our program is tested, certified and thoughtfully paired first.

Muffin, our OFA-tested Goldendoodle

Why it matters

Hip and elbow dysplasia, heart and eye disease, and dozens of inherited conditions can be passed from parent to puppy. Testing tells us what each dog carries so we never pair two carriers of the same condition and never breed a dog whose joints, eyes or heart don't pass.

We share results openly. Each parent's testing is listed on their page, and Good Dog independently reviews our documentation every year.

In practice

What every parent completes

  1. OFA hips & elbows

Radiographs evaluated by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals — final ratings after age two, preliminary before.

  2. OFA eyes (CAER)

An annual exam by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist for hereditary eye disease.

  3. OFA heart & patellas

Cardiac auscultation and a patellar luxation check, both registered with OFA.

  4. Full Embark DNA panel

200+ genetic conditions plus coat, color and size genetics, so pairings are matched by carrier status.

Your puppy's risk of the big inherited problems is as low as testing can make it.

  • Proof, not promises

Results are public on OFA and Embark — ask us for any parent's certificates.

Our written health guarantee stands behind every puppy we place.
